The Story
Most people experience Yellowstone during the warmth of summer, and seeing bison then is incredible. But seeing one in a snow-covered Yellowstone landscape feels entirely different. Few animals seem more at home in the cold.
On this early spring day, I was simply driving around and enjoying the transformed landscape when I rounded a bend and a large bull bison appeared on the road in front of me.
Anyone who has spent time in Yellowstone knows that bison walking down the road is part of the experience, and somehow it never gets old. In the snow, this familiar Yellowstone scene felt new again. Watching this bull move through the white landscape reminded me how naturally bison belong here through every season.
